When the Krampus and Bärbele parade through the village, it gets exciting and a little scary at the same time. The wild companions of St. Nicholas wear impressive robes made of fur or moss, elaborate masks and large horns. The Krampusverein d'Bommera and the Bärbele keep this old tradition alive and provide an impressive spectacle. St. Nicholas, who stands for the contemplative side of the tradition, is also there.
