Wild and romantic side valley Natural idyll Wildental valley
Past the mighty north-eastern flank of the Elferkopf, the view opens up to the striking Schafalpköpfe, which are enthroned at the end of the Wildental valley. The babbling of the Wildenbach stream and the gentle tinkling of cow and goat bells accompany you through this wild and romantic valley, which is home to four rustic, farmed alps. At the end of the valley, the path becomes steeper and the Wildenbach cascades into the depths as a roaring waterfall. Ibex and chamois watch your steps from afar – their territory high up in the stony gravel fields. The Wildental offers not only the tranquillity of untouched nature and cozy places to stop for refreshments, but also exciting adventures for summiteers.
Wildental valley at a glance
The Wildental Valley impresses with its contrasts: it is a lovely valley that is characterized by the power of nature and rugged Dolomite peaks at the same time. The striking Schafalpköpfe are particularly eye-catching. The Wildenbach stream meanders across an idyllic plateau and cascades into the valley as a waterfall before flowing into the Breitach.
The valley can be reached quickly on foot or with the Walserbus from Mittelberg. If you want to enjoy the peace and quiet, you can hike on a circular tour past the Wiesalpen to the historic Fluchtalp. The higher Kuhgehrenalpe can also be reached from here. A steep ascent leads to the Fiderepass and the Kemptner Scharte, which offer access to further peaks. The Fiderepass and Mindelheimer hut invite you to stay overnight in summer. The Mindelheim via ferrata provides thrills.
In winter, the Wildental valley shows its quieter side. It is the perfect place for a leisurely winter hike or to try out the small ski lift – ideal for beginners. The Wildental valley not only offers untouched nature and mountain adventures, but also a vital place where you can switch off and recharge your batteries.

experience nature consciously Regeneration for nature, people and animals

The Wildental valley is a true natural paradise, home not only to hikers and adventurers, but also to a diverse flora and fauna. The untouched nature, from the wild spring streams to the imposing main dolomite cliffs, is home to numerous species – including the ibex, which has formed a stable colony here since its reintroduction. The proportion of deciduous trees in the region is generally low, but the Wildental valley is home to impressive beech trees, which thrive here [DJ1]. On the way to the Hintere Wildenalpe there are also some larches – a special feature of the Kleinwalsertal. The valley is a place where nature is constantly regenerating and creating its own habitat. Those who respect this beauty help to ensure that it is preserved for future generations.
