Skiing on the Gottesacker plateau winter dream on the Ifen

The Ifen was long a well-kept secret in the Allgäu Alps. In recent years, the ski resort has been gradually modernized and now offers everything winter sports enthusiasts and nature lovers could wish for. With its modern lifts, diverse slopes and the breathtaking backdrop of the Gottesacker plateau , every day on skis at Ifen is an unforgettable experience. The Ifen also has plenty to offer away from the slopes: The winter hiking trail on the Gottesacker leads through mystical snowy landscapes and gentle snow dunes – perfect for those who prefer to experience the panorama on foot and without skis. The family ski area also offers over 25 kilometres of fun on the slopes, and the gastronomy on the Ifen also sets the tone.

Das Ifen ski resort at a glance

With 25 kilometres of varied slopes, beginners and pros will get their money's worth. Around half of the pistes are blue. Ideal for getting used to skiing in peace. Advanced skiers can let off steam on the red Ifenmulden runs or whizz down the challenging Olympic run. The longest downhill run leads over seven kilometers through the snow dunes – a real highlight for all pleasure skiers. And for all early birds: from February, you can start your skiing day here as early as 7:45 a.m.!

Of course, you also need to take a break. You can fortify yourself and enjoy the view in one of the three restaurants with sun terraces.

If you still haven't had enough, take the shuttle bus, which takes you to the lower-lying and even more beginner-friendly valley ski area in just a few minutes, connecting you to the Walmendingerhornbahn. You have over 60 kilometres of slopes to choose from.

Away from the slopes, you can discover the highest winter hiking trail in Kleinwalsertal – a great way to enjoy the wintry mountain landscape without skis.

The Ifen ski resort is also located in the middle of the Natura2000 nature reserve "Ifen". Here you are in a particularly sensitive natural area. Therefore, considerate behavior is important, especially observing the signposted forest-wildlife conservation areas.

The history of the Ifen ski resort goes back to 1961, when the Olympic lift was opened as a T-bar lift and has been modernized again and again since then – you can experience the result live today.

There's never a dull moment in Burmi's winter world! Here, kids can sometimes meet the cheerful marmot even in winter – unlike its fellow marmots, the cute Kleinwalsertal mascot never sleeps and welcomes little guests with open paws. At the valley station, two conveyor belts and the Gaisbühl T-bar lift ensure that beginners and children can safely make their first turns on the practice slopes. As soon as the pizza slice is in place, it's on to the blue and red slopes further up in the family ski resort. The Auenhütte provides a cozy break where you and your family can recharge your batteries for the next descent with a hot drink and delicious pizza in an inviting atmosphere.
