Closed. The hut generally accommodates 20 people in the sleeping area and can only be booked with an overnight stay including breakfast. Open from June 7th to October 5th, 2025, no rest day. Last overnight stay option October 4th, 2025.

We pamper our guests with hearty dishes from the kitchen and cellar.

During the day, your four-legged friends are welcome to accompany you - but please note: Overnight stays with dogs are not allowed in our establishment.

The privately-run shelter is situated at 2015m, south of the Großer Widderstein (2533m). The Widdersteinhütte can be reached from the Hochtannbergpass in about an hour. The altitude difference between the Hochtannbergpass and the Widdersteinhütte is 350m. An ascent is also possible from Baad in Kleinwalsertal, from Mittelberg in Kleinwalsertal, and from Warth. Walking time is approximately 3 hours.

The Widdersteinhütte serves as a base for a mountain tour to the Großer Widderstein. An ascent to the 2533m high summit can be expected to take about 1.5 hours from the hut.
