Mountain route to the Fiderepass hut
Tour description
The route leads from the Mittelberg district Schwendle over the Wiesalpen on an alpine path through the Wildental to the Fluchtalpe. From there, via serpentine paths steeply ascending first over alpine meadows, then through a forest and up into a large cirque. For the final ascent to the Fiderepass hut, follow the mountain hiking trail over a scree field onto a high plateau between the Oberstdorfer Hammerspitze and the Schafalpen peaks. From the terrace of the alpine club hut of the DAV section Oberstdorf, there is an incomparable panoramic view of the Oberstdorf and Allgäu mountains all the way to Kleinwalsertal with the towering Ifen. On the descent, the path leads back from the Fiderepass hut over the high plateau, following the same route until the mountain trail branches off towards the Inner Kuhgerenalpe. Along the mountain flank to the managed alpine hut and here via numerous narrow switchbacks back into the Wildental. From there, on the familiar path back to the starting point of the route.
