Winter hike from Wäldele across the Madthal to Riezlern
Tour description
Short, varied winter hike from the Hirschegg district Wäldele to Riezlern. The winter trail leads past the Natural Bridge, a natural monument shaped by the Schwarzwasserbach stream, into the Madthal.
From the Sports Field Au bus stop, a prepared winter trail runs near the Schwarzwasserbach at the foot of the Gottesacker area through Innerschwende to Riezlern. A short detour right at the start of the walk leads to the Natural Bridge, then the path gently descends through the forest into the peaceful Madthal. From there it goes slightly uphill again via the Riezlern district Egg down to the Breitach river and into the center of Riezlern.

The Natural Bridge is a stone bridge spanning a large pool with a waterfall. The natural monument is typical of the erosions created by water in the Schrattenkalk limestone. Due to the cave-forming and water-permeable Schrattenkalk, a bridge arch spanning the streambed has remained here.
