1st course – Neue Krone in Mittelberg Walser tapas in the sunshine
GWell fortified, we then head straight up: next to the Neue Krone, we take the path up to the Sonna Alp (alternatively and very conveniently, you can also take the Zaferna chairlift and save yourself around 45 minutes of ascent). Whichever option you choose, a phenomenal view awaits you at the top. It's hard to tear ourselves away from it. But knowing what other views (both culinary and scenic) await us, we continue in the direction of Hirschegg. We pass an old sycamore tree, a herd of Haflinger horses and a panorama - all views that make our hearts skip a beat. Shortly before the 2nd gear, we take another break. The benches in front of the small stable are too inviting for us not to stop briefly. The view of the Walser mountain giants Widderstein, Bärenkopf, Elfer, Zwölfer and the view out of the valley over Riezlern into the Oberallgäu is too tempting.

2. course – Hotel Birkenhöhe in Hirschegg Main course with a great view
But now the stomach is growling a little. How good that the next course is not too far away. The next sun terrace awaits us at the Hotel Birkenhöhe, with a breathtaking view and an exquisite main course that makes us melt away.

After this enjoyable break, the next stage and digestive hike comes just in time! Also because we know that a real natural jewel is waiting for us, for which we are happy to make a small detour: The natural bridge! It looks different, smells different and sounds different in every weather and at every water level! We are always fascinated anew ourselves. We continue along the so-called Karolinenweg between the trees. This small, natural cool-down in the shade of the trees is really good. On the home stretch towards dessert and just before the final climb, we recharge our batteries at the Schwarzwasserbach stream - before it flows into the Breitach. A particularly great place to unwind and let your thoughts run free: The waterfalls at the old power station! But now let's get going... after all, THE Austrian dish par excellence is waiting for us! At our last indulgence stop, we can already smell it - Grandma's Kaiserschmarrn!
3rd course – "Genuss- und Aktivhotel Sonnenburg" Gourmet finale with Kaiserschmarrn
In the beautiful garden of the Genuss- und Aktivhotel Sonnenburg with its old trees, the view into the valley and a pleasant breeze on our necks, we enjoy a sweet pastry with homemade apple sauce. We remember all the beautiful and enjoyable moments of today: meadow, forest, water - the Kleinwalsertal is just as varied as the surroundings on the hike. Garnished with tasty dishes from the three gourmet inns, it was an unforgettable experience.
