Ski tour from Baad to the Höferspitze
Tour description
At the end of the Bärgunttal, the 2131 m high Höferspitze towers with a fine, steep summit slope (approx. 350 meters), which guarantees a lot of fun for the descent. Nevertheless, the mountain should not be underestimated and should only be climbed under good conditions.
The starting point of the route is Baad, which is also popular with winter hikers in winter. Especially on the first section to the Bärgunthütte, consideration is asked for towards other winter sports enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation during the ascent and especially during the descent (please observe the signs). Then there is enough space and nature enjoyment for everyone. Ski tourers are advised to use the ungroomed "Panoramaweg" (formerly "Brunnenweg") for ascent and descent. In the event of an avalanche closure of this path, everyone must use the lower path along the Bärguntbach, which is gritted. On such days, particularly considerate behavior, slow riding or even walking is necessary to avoid endangering anyone.
Experience nature consciously stands for respectful coexistence among winter sports enthusiasts and towards nature. The described route takes into account the designated forest-wildlife protection areas in winter in Bärgunttal.

Route description
Ascent
The start of the route is in Baad, which can be easily reached by bus (Walserbus from Oberstdorf). Initially, we follow the gritted winter hiking trail towards Bärgunttal until a fork. There, we keep left and continue on the "Panoramaweg" (not gritted, formerly "Brunnenweg") passing the Alpe Widderstein to the Bärgunthütte, which is also staffed in winter. From here, we largely follow the course of the summer path. After the second steep section before the Hochalp, we leave the summer path and turn west between 1,800 and 1,850 m above sea level. Over the steep east slope, it now goes up to the north ridge of the Höferspitze. On the narrow ridge, which is often snowdrifted, you reach the summit.
Descent
The easier descent is along the ascent track. Under safe conditions, there is also a steep descent (almost 40 degrees) directly from the summit via the east flank. Arriving at the Bärgunthütte, you go back via the right-turning Panoramaweg (not gritted, formerly "Brunnenweg") to Baad. The last section is again on the gritted winter hiking trail.
Recommended equipment
Off secured pistes and paths, everyone travels at their own risk and must inform themselves about alpine hazards, especially avalanche danger. Weather conditions and snow conditions may require changes to the route.

Tips
Stop frequently and look into the sky. With some luck, you can see the only golden eagle breeding pair in the Kleinwalsertal. The Bärgunttal is their preferred territory.
